ZEVENT breaks a new record! (Again)
“Z Event is a charity project created by Adrien Nougaret and Alexandre Dachary. Divided into two parts, the event consists of a showcase that acts as a starter and is followed by a video game streaming marathon during which many specialized animators gather throughout the weekend.
For more than 50 hours, participants broadcast live content together and encourage viewers to mobilize to support a charity. “
This is a new record (again!). The ZEvent 2022, charity video game marathon, raised more than 10 million euros this Monday, September 12. This year’s beneficiaries are four environmental NGOs: Sea Shepherd, League of Birds (LPO), The Sea Cleaners and WWF.
For three days, from Friday 6 p.m. to Monday morning 2 a.m., 57 video game streaming stars took on multiple challenges to raise funds. These challenges, called “Fundraising Goals”, are proposed by the players and are completed when the indicated fundraising goal is reached. In 2021, ZEvent has already raised more than €10 million for the NGO Action Contre la Faim, far from the €170,000 in 2016.
As in previous years, Emmanuel Macron applauded his performance. In a video on Twitter, the President of the Republic said: “Thank you for partnering with Z Events to fight us to limit emissions and respond to these existing climate changes.” It was heavily criticized by streamers, including Antoine Daniel, who saw the message recovered.
