Csgo – FaZe defeats NaVi and wins the cologne IEM

FaZe Clan, already NAVI champions in Antwerp, beat their best opponent again this Sunday evening in the IEM Cologne final after seven hours of high profile sessions in the last Counter-Strike.

a final confrontation of 7 hours

Sometimes abusing superlatives is not superfluous. Magnificent, extraordinary, magnificent… The final of the IEM Cologne in the heart of the Lanxess Arena, with 15,000 fans of Counter-Strike boiling, closed HLTV Sunday evening with a victory (3-2) for the rank FaZe Clan (world No. 2) in the rankings) simultaneously with NAVI (n°1). After seven hours of frantic and tense play, rarely achieved individually and collectively, the North American club beat their Ukrainian opponents by the narrowest of margins (16-14 in the fifth and final set).

A hotly contested final

But the entire session was streamed online. If FaZe had taken the first set (16-13), NAVI would have reacted in the following games and would then have taken the lead without resisting a wild counterattack (16-13, 19-16). On their chosen map, however, Oleksandr “1mple” Kostyliev and his teammates missed the boat of Mirage (FaZe Clan 16-9) in the most lopsided series of clashes.

Like the number of FaZe Clan champions in Counter-Strike 2022. The American club won Katowice, Pro League, Antwerp Major and Cologne.
As one of Counter-Strike’s most contentious finals, between two rosters that currently seem way above the rest, the final verdict itself has yet to be decided. FaZe got through a few rounds on Nuke before finally winning, thanks in part to Russel “Twizzz” Van Dulken being decisive at the hottest moment.
